Maternity photo outfit ideas worth saving
dusty pink and a long train
We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous dusty pink gown. I love the off-the-shoulder neckline and the long skirt pooling around her feet.
Try a gathered waist above your bump and loose sleeves to follow this look. You don’t need lots of accessories with a dress like this.
sheer black florals
If you want something a little more dramatic, this one is for you. The black floral pattern runs all the way down the sheer gown, with long panels falling from the arms.
The bare shoulders are so pretty here. For more coverage, you could add a plain black underlayer to your own version.
matching black looks
How gorgeous is this paired portrait? The high-neck black outfit has a large opening around the bump and a long skirt with a small train.
Beside it, a plain black tee and pants keep things simple.
If someone is joining your photos, try matching colors rather than matching every detail.
deep red in the field
I am obsessed with this deep red gown. The folded neckline and long sleeves are beautiful, but that trailing skirt may just be my favorite part.

Keep this on your maternity outfits ideas for photoshoot board if you love a rich color against pale grasses.
white flowers by the water
This is such a pretty beach combination. The white gown has a deep V neckline and large floral shapes across its sheer skirt.
For a photo together, try a pale short-sleeve shirt and dark shorts on your partner, just like this. There’s no need for both outfits to be equally dressy.
blue shirt and wide-leg jeans
Don’t want to wear a gown? No problem! This blue collared shirt and wide-leg jeans pairing gives you a completely different option.
The shirt is partly fastened above the bump, with the jeans left open below it. I love the silver-tone earrings as the only obvious extra detail.
pale blue with pink trim
How cute is this blue outfit? The thin-strap dress and matching cardigan are lovely together.
Those pale pink wispy details near the cardigan’s lower edges make it a little different.
Try letting the cardigan sit below your shoulders if you want to show the dress straps like this.
fine stripes and a white collar
If you are looking for something simple to put together, this matching striped outfit is for you. The wide white collar, loose sleeves and flared pants look so cute together.
Keep the white shoes for your own photos. You could leave the small black bag out if you want both hands free.
white gown and peach flowers
This flower headpiece may just be one of my favorite accessories here. I love the peach blooms beside the white gown and its little patterned sleeves.
The skirt opens at the front to show the bump. Add a similar floral piece to one side of your hair if you want to follow this look.
an open blue shirt
Don’t want to go all out with a special photoshoot dress? Try an oversized pale blue shirt over a cream-colored outfit. Here, the lower buttons are open and the sleeves are pushed up.
Save this to your maternity outfits photoshoot board if you’re leaning toward everyday pieces rather than a long train.
black dress with puffed shoulders
I love this black dress with its puffed shoulders. The shaped neckline and fitted long sleeves give it plenty of detail without adding a pattern.

The dangling earrings are worth keeping if you try a similar outfit. They’re such a pretty finishing touch.
cream florals in the meadow
If you love a more detailed outfit, then this one is for you. There are pale floral patterns across the bodice and the long sheer outer layer, with a tie sitting above the bump.
I especially love how the cream color looks among the pinkish flowers. You could skip a necklace and leave that V neckline as it is.
a simple black high neckline
Don’t want flowers, ruffles or a bare-bump look? No problem there! Try a fitted black dress with a high neckline and long sleeves.
This black-and-white portrait keeps the outfit beautifully simple. The slightly flared cuffs add just a little extra shape.
rows of pale ruffles
Okay, these ruffles are gorgeous! The pale gown has an off-the-shoulder neckline, sheer sections and big curling rows all through the skirt.
If you want to go all out for your studio photos, this is a lovely direction. I’d keep the accessories small and let those ruffles do their thing.
white flower top and skirt
I am obsessed with this white two-piece look. The oversized flowers across the cropped top and upper arms are so pretty.
Pair a statement top like this with a plain long skirt below your bump. The gathered detail at the hip is all the extra decoration this skirt needs.
white set and a wide-brim hat
Here is another white two-piece idea, but it’s a little different from the one above. This time, there’s a high-neck cropped top with long sleeves and a fitted skirt.
That wide-brim hat is my favorite part. Try a pale hat with a small decorative band if you want the same extra touch.
olive dress and pale neutrals
How sweet is this seated photo? The muted olive dress has puffed sleeves and a long skirt spread across the grass.
For a coordinated look together, try a white shirt, beige pants and brown loafers alongside your dress. I love that the colors go together without being identical.
white florals over wide-leg pants
Want the long trailing detail without wearing a gown? This white floral top has short sleeves, a curved opening around the bump and long panels falling beside the pants.
The plain white wide-leg pants are such a good pairing. Keep a small neutral bag if you like the dressed-up everyday feel.
cream pleats and a cape
This is one of my favorite covered-up looks on the list. I love the long pleated skirt with the cape-like layer falling down either side.
The black sunglasses give it a different feel from the studio gowns. Try a small pale bag with a chain strap if you want to keep that street-style touch.
ivory layers and ruffled edges
Last but definitely not least, we have this pretty ivory look. The long sheer outer layer has ruffled edges that curl around the bottom, with the bump visible through the open front.
I love the way the light catches those pale layers. A similar outfit could also look lovely on a level beach path if you’d rather skip the rocks.
