Looking for daycare teacher outfits beyond the same tee and pants? Think dark overalls, bright teal trousers and striped tops with little touches of blue.
These looks include casual combinations plus a few dressier ideas you can adapt for your workday.
You can keep things simple or bring in a playful print. Start with pieces that suit your center’s dress code, especially its footwear and accessory rules.
Then pick a color combination you’d love to try.
Teacher outfit ideas worth saving
black overalls and pale blue
We’re starting off strong with these cute black overalls and a pale blue top. I love the big front pocket and the little buttons at the sides.
Pair yours with cream strap flats to follow this look. The rolled hems leave those shoes on show.
mauve sweatshirt and dark pants
If you are looking for something simple to put together, this one is for you. The oversized mauve sweatshirt sits over dark pants with curved legs and seams across the knees.
Brown slip-on shoes finish the outfit without adding another bright color.
gray sweatshirt and black
Don’t want to go all out with patterns? No problem!
Try this light gray sweatshirt with plain black pants. The dropped shoulders and long sleeves give the top that oversized shape.
I’d keep this pairing simple rather than adding another layer.
taupe blazer and cropped pants
This is a lovely dressier option if you have a meeting on your schedule. I love the taupe blazer with the white top and wide black pants.
Try white slip-on sneakers like these instead of dress shoes. Push the blazer sleeves up to follow the same styling.
gray cardigan and wide jeans
How cute is this gray-on-gray combination? The short cardigan sits over a white tee, with wide gray jeans and chunky black shoes below.
Keep the cardigan mostly open if you want that little strip of white down the middle.
smiley flower and teal pants
I am obsessed with this smiley flower tee. It’s just so cute with the teal pants, plus those pale turquoise sunglasses add another splash of color.
If you’ve been searching for “daycare outfits teachers preschool”, try this colorful pairing. Start with a graphic tee you already own, then pick pants that repeat one of its colors.
cream vest and white tee
This vest may just be one of my favorites here. I love the cream color over the longer white tee and dark wide-leg pants.
Leave the tee untucked so its hem shows below the vest. That little layered detail is worth keeping.
stripes with blue trim
The stripe fans are going to love this! The black-and-white top has bright blue trim at the neck, cuffs and hem.
It looks so cute with the cropped jeans and white sneakers with black stripes.
white blouse and olive shorts
How pretty is this white blouse? The little cutout flowers and ruffled neckline are my favorite parts.
Olive shorts and a narrow leopard-print belt make the rest a little different.
This one needs a dress-code check for the shorts and open sandals. For a more covered version, try olive trousers and closed-toe flats.
gray top and cargo pockets
If you love lots of pocket details, this one is for you. The olive cargo pants have large side pockets and little buckle accents down the legs.
Pair them with a gray sweater over a white tee. The chunky white sneakers pick up the white hem showing underneath.
blue stripes and a white top
I love these blue-and-white striped pants. The wide legs and tied waist look so pretty with the loose white short-sleeve top.
Try a small front tuck like the one here. The brown flats are a lovely finishing touch.
olive vest and brown pants
Here is another vest outfit, but it’s a little different from the cream one above. This olive vest has a nubby surface and large front pockets over a white long-sleeve top.
The dark brown pants and pale sneakers keep the colors simple. I’d choose this combination if you prefer greens and browns to bright prints.
blue jacket and leopard skirt
This leopard-print skirt is so pretty with its long pleats. I love the light blue jacket and plain white tee up top.
The photo pairs it with black lace-up sandals. For a daycare version, I’d try closed-toe sneakers and check that the skirt lets you sit and bend easily.
white tee and blue cap
Don’t want to add lots of layers and want something super simple? This white pocket tee and dark tapered pants pairing is for you.
The pale sneakers keep it understated while the blue baseball cap adds a brighter detail.
striped shirt under gray
This is one of my favorite layered looks on the list. I love how much of the striped shirt shows beneath the shorter gray top.
Let the collar, cuffs and hem peek out to try the same idea. The dark cuffed pants and lace-up sneakers finish the look.
cream sweater and red plaid
How cute is that red plaid peeking out? The cream sweater has raised diamond and cable patterns, with the shirt showing at the neckline, wrists and hem.

Dark cropped pants, white socks and brown clogs complete this combination. I’d keep the red shirt as the only bright color.

stripes and black trousers
If you’re looking for a dressier black-and-white idea, go with this striped high-neck sweater and wide black trousers. I love the little rectangular belt buckle.
The pointed black shoes and structured bag make this more of a meeting-day reference. You could switch to flat closed-toe shoes for your classroom version.
blue shirt and cream pants
The blue and cream pairing is so pretty in this outfit. The oversized button-front shirt is tucked in on one side, showing a brown belt above the cream pants.
Roll the pant hems if you want to follow this look. The taupe clogs keep the rest neutral.
graphic tee and green clogs
I am obsessed with the little touches of green here. The colorful graphic tee sits beneath a long gray cardigan, with dark cuffed jeans below.

Those bright green clogs are such a fun detail. If your center requires different footwear, try green sneakers to keep that same bit of color.
pink trousers and cream
Last but definitely not least, we have this pretty pink trouser outfit. I love the cream short-sleeve top with its high neckline and vertical ribbed detail.
Tuck your top into the high waist to show the pleats and matching pink button. White sneakers finish this one off.
