Looking for valentines day desserts with a little something extra? Think pink dipped strawberries, heart-shaped cakes and brownies covered in tiny hearts.
These ideas give you plenty to choose from, whether you want one pretty dessert or a whole board of treats.
You can keep it simple or go all out. I especially love the berry-topped hearts, but those chocolate desserts are hard to pass up!
Start with your favorite sweet, then pick a few decorating details to try.
Sweet Valentine's Day Dessert Ideas to Save
pink strawberries and tiny hearts
We’re starting off strong with these super cute decorated strawberries. I love the little red hearts on the pink coating.
The darker berries have pink and white sprinkles, with mini marshmallows tucked between the rows.

For your own box, try mixing heart-covered berries with a few drizzled ones rather than making every strawberry match.
berry-covered heart cake
How gorgeous is this heart cake? The dark cake layers have white piped dollops between them and around the top, with strawberries and blueberries filling the middle.
Keep some strawberry halves facing upward if you want to follow this arrangement. They look so pretty beside the whole berries.
pink and red sweet board
If you are looking for a little bit of everything, then this one is for you. There are pink and red macarons, heart-shaped brownies, coated pretzels and a pile of pale pink marshmallow hearts.
I love the small bowls dotted around the board. Try using bowls for your dips and loose fruit, then fill the spaces with the larger treats.
strawberry and cake cups
Don’t want to serve a whole cake? No problem!
These little cups hold a white creamy layer with a strawberry and a pale cake cube perched on top.
The pick through the cake and berry is such a cute presentation detail. Small clear cups would let you show off the same arrangement.
raspberry-topped mini hearts
These little heart-shaped desserts may just be some of my favorites here. I love the glossy red topping dripping over the pale yellow sides, plus those raspberries on top.
If you’re planning mini cheesecakes, save this as decorating inspo. I’d keep the berries grouped in the middle so the heart shape stays visible.
chocolate lava cake
Who needs pink frosting when you have a chocolate center like this? The cake is opened up on one side, showing that glossy filling beneath a powdered top. I’d leave the decorations just like this.
heart-sprinkled brownies
If you are looking for something simple to decorate, this one is for you. These brownie squares have crackly tops scattered with red, white and pink hearts.
You don’t need an elaborate design to borrow this look. Choose heart sprinkles for your own brownies and let them be the main decoration.
pink macaron hearts
I am obsessed with these pink heart macarons. The open centers hold strawberry pieces, raspberries and red rose decorations, with little pale dollops showing between the shells.

If you want flowers on your own desserts, choose food-safe edible decorations rather than ordinary florist roses.
drizzled heart pops
How cute are these? The red, white and bright pink heart pops each have white drizzle and one tiny heart decoration.
Try the same color mix for your own coated dessert pops. I’d keep that single little heart on each one instead of adding more sprinkles.
red and white dessert glasses
This is such a pretty way to show off dessert layers. Red cake pieces alternate with thick white layers inside the glass, with a tall white swirl and dark shavings on top.

Choose clear glasses for your own layered dessert so you don’t hide all those lovely colors.
little jam windows
I love these scalloped sandwich cookies with their little heart windows. The glossy red filling looks so pretty against the powdered tops.
If you’re choosing cutters for a similar batch, try a round scalloped outline with a small heart in the center. You still get the Valentine’s detail without shaping the entire cookie into a heart.
red-centered cake bites
These cake bites have a little surprise inside. The split pieces show a deep red center beneath the pale coating, with dark red drizzle over the tops.
For a red velvet version of your own, this is a lovely decorating idea to save. That pale shell really shows off the red.
layered mousse hearts
How pretty are these mousse hearts? You can see a dark bottom layer, a pink middle and a glossy red top through the clear containers.
The raspberries and blueberries are my favorite finishing touch. Try gathering your fruit toward one side if you want to leave some of that red surface showing.
pink heart cupcakes
These cupcakes are just too cute. The pale pink frosting follows the heart-shaped tops, with tiny red, pink and white sprinkles scattered over it.

I especially love that the frosting has little swoops rather than a perfectly smooth finish. Keep that detail if you’re using these as decorating inspo.
a cocoa-dusted layered heart
Don’t want to add bright colors to your dessert? No problem there!
This little layered heart has pale piped filling between golden-brown layers and a dark dusted top.
For a similar presentation, serve one on a plain plate and skip the extra decorations. The heart shape is enough.
chocolate dipping platter
The chocolate fans are going to love this! A big bowl of chocolate dip sits among cake cubes, sliced fruit, marshmallows, cookies and pretzels.
There are even ridged potato chips tucked beside the strawberries.
Try keeping each dipper in its own little group when you arrange your platter. That way, you can see all the choices.
decorated cereal hearts
This is one of my favorite playful ideas on the list. The heart-shaped cereal treats have pink, white and dark coatings, with sprinkles and drizzle mixed throughout.
You can either follow the half-dipped look or cover the whole heart. I’d keep a few of each, just like this assortment.
tiny lattice hearts
I know the macaron hearts above are gorgeous, but these little lattice treats are a close second. Mostly because the red filling peeks through all those tiny squares.
The scalloped edges and small round details make them even sweeter. Save this one if you want a heart-shaped pastry with more decoration than a plain top.
pink-swirled dessert bark
I am obsessed with the pink hearts in this pale dessert bark. Their little trailing points look so pretty beside the pink dots and red sprinkles.
For your own version, leave some plain space between the decorations. You don’t have to cover every inch to get this look.
cupcakes and cookies to share
Last but definitely not least, we have this gorgeous dessert board. I love the pink frosting swirls and the big red hearts on the dark cupcakes.
The bowls of raspberries are such a pretty addition.
