Looking for valentines day dresses with a little something extra? Think pink bows, red hearts and a glossy red midi with sparkling shoes.
There’s plenty to choose from here, including simple shapes and dresses covered in ruffles.
You can keep things understated or go all out. I especially love the oversized bows, but the navy polka dots are worth a look too.
Pick your favorite dress, then decide which little details you want to try.
Valentine's Day Dress Ideas to Save
red midi and sparkling heels
We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous red midi. I love the thin straps and simple neckline, especially with those sparkling pointed heels.
If you’ve been searching for “valentines day outfit ideas dresses,” this red midi is a lovely place to start. Try adding a small pendant necklace to keep the accessories simple.
pink bows and white roses
How cute is this? The oversized pink waist bow is already so pretty, but those white rose-shaped details around the hem make it even sweeter.
There are little pink bows on the sheer white sleeves too. I’d choose simple pale pink shoes if you want to let all those details stand out.
hearts all over
I am obsessed with this heart-print dress. The red and pink hearts look adorable against the pale pink background.
The ruffled neckline, full sleeves and little ruffle around the skirt give you plenty of detail without adding anything else. Try small earrings if you want to keep the same idea.

burgundy mini and a back bow
This burgundy dress may just be one of my favorites here. The front is simple, then you turn it around and there’s that gorgeous oversized bow.
Follow the collage with black floral-patterned tights and burgundy pointed heels. The matching bag and red drop earrings are lovely if you want to go a little dressier.
pale pink and flared cuffs
If you love a matching shoe moment, this one is for you. The pale pink mini has little ties at the neckline and wide flared cuffs.

white mini and a heart pendant
Don’t want to wear red or pink? No problem! This white mini has tied shoulder straps, a fitted paneled bodice and a flared skirt.
The gold-tone heart pendant is my favorite little touch. It brings in the Valentine’s theme without a heart print.
red neckline and black boots
I love this red off-the-shoulder dress with the tall black boots. The wide folded neckline and flared sleeves are just too cute together.

Pair yours with a small black shoulder bag like the one here. That’s really all I’d add besides a delicate necklace.
navy and white polka dots
If you’re looking for something a little different from hearts and bows, go with polka dots. This navy midi has short sleeves, a tied waist and an opening at the front of the skirt.

hot pink and an angled hem
How pretty is this pink? The dress has thin straps and diagonal folds across the front, with one side of the hem falling lower than the other.
You don’t need lots of accessories here. The beige ankle-strap heels keep the rest of the outfit simple.
a pearl-edged pink bow
Okay, this bow is gorgeous. The back of the pale pink mini has a huge bow with cascading tails edged in tiny pearl-like beads.
The same little beads run along the top of the dress. I’d wear my hair up to leave that back detail on show.
black floral and thin straps
Who says you have to stick to Valentine’s colors? This long black dress is so pretty with its floral pattern and sheer sections through the skirt.
The thin straps and curved neckline keep the top simple. If you wanted an extra touch, small sparkling earrings would look lovely here.
tiny roses and pink ruffles
This is another pretty way to wear pink without adding hearts. I love the little rose print and the row of buttons down the front.
The puffed shoulders and layered ruffles around the skirt are such sweet details. Keep your jewelry small if you want to follow this look.
burgundy and brown boots
This is a similar off-the-shoulder idea to the red dress above, but it’s a little different as well. The burgundy mini has raised cable-like patterns down the front and closer-fitting sleeves.
I love the brown knee-high boots with the white sock edges peeking out. Definitely a combination worth saving.
a heart-shaped cutout
The heart fans are going to love this! Instead of an all-over print, this red mini has one large heart-shaped cutout below the neckline.
The little cap sleeves keep the shape simple. Try pale silver-colored ankle-strap heels like these to finish the outfit.
red ruffles from top to bottom
If you are looking for a dress with lots going on, then this one is for you. There are layers of red ruffles around the shoulders and down the short skirt.
I love the beige clutch with the matching ankle-strap heels. Add a few gold-tone bracelets if you want to follow the accessories here.
red midi and matching accessories
This is actually one of my favorite ways to wear all red. The glossy midi has a curved, seamed neckline and a skirt that flares slightly toward the hem.
Pair it with pointed red pumps and a red clutch like this look. You can even bring the color into your lipstick.
red sparkle and drop earrings
I am obsessed with this sparkle. Red sequins cover the visible front of the dress, with diagonal folds beneath the V-shaped neckline.
The long circular earrings add another little bit of shine. I’d leave off a necklace and keep those earrings as the finishing touch.
pink checks and patch pockets
Don’t want to go all out with sparkle? This pink-and-white checked dress is such a cute alternative.
I love the long gathered skirt and the patch pockets.
The broad straps and straight neckline are pretty on their own. Try small gold-tone jewelry like the pieces here.
white one-shoulder mini
This white mini is anything but plain. The loose one-shoulder shape ends in a dramatic feathery-looking trim that continues around the draped side.
I love the white ankle-strap heels with it. Keep the colors matching if you want the same look, or try a pink bag for a little Valentine’s detail.
dark roses and a black bow
Last but definitely not least, we have this pretty pink rose-print mini. I am in love with the long black bow at the neckline.
The cream-colored trim and little puff sleeves look so sweet beside the dark roses. Pair yours with black floral-patterned tights like these to bring the outfit together.
