20 Dessert Table Backdrop Ideas With Flowers, Balloons and Sparkle

Looking for a dessert table backdrop that’s just as pretty as the treats? Pink balloon arches, colorful streamers and flower-covered walls give you plenty to choose from.

These images include finished dessert displays plus standalone backdrops you could adapt for your own table.

You can keep things simple or go all out. I especially love the little floral details tucked between balloons.

There’s also a behind-the-scenes setup and a few table-focused ideas, so you can see which details you’d like to borrow.

Pretty backdrop ideas for your dessert display

pink balloons and little roses

We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous pink birthday backdrop. I love the little rose clusters tucked between the pink and white balloons.

The glowing birthday sign is so pretty against the rounded panel.

For a dessert display, you could swap the flowers on the slender gold-colored stand for a small cake.

gold shimmer and cream balloons

If you are looking for a little sparkle, this one is for you. The gold-colored square tiles sit behind big clusters of white, cream and shiny gold balloons.

There isn’t a dessert table here yet. I’d add a plain white one in front and let that sparkling wall do the decorating.

greenery and pale flowers

This floral backdrop may just be one of my favorites here. I love the pale flowers running across the top and down one side of the dark green wall.

The little round cake table doesn’t need much else. Small flower vases and candle holders sit beside the raised cake.

cream arches and feathery arrangements

Don’t want to go all out with balloons? No problem! These overlapping cream panels have tan and ivory arrangements at opposite corners.

I love the tall feathery stems at the upper left. Try a cream cake pedestal in front if you want to keep the same simple colors.

white to pink flower wall

I am obsessed with this flower wall. The white blooms at the top gradually give way to blush pink and deep pink flowers near the floor.

That glowing “Let’s Party” sign is such a cute extra touch.

For your own dessert table backdrop, try keeping the serving stands white so you can still enjoy all that color.

dark grid and glowing script

If you’re looking for a cake display without lots of flowers or balloons, go with this dark grid backdrop and glowing script sign. The pale pink runner hangs down both ends of the white table.

I love how the tall cake sits off to one side instead of right in the middle.

oversized flowers and a framed initial

How cute are these oversized pink flowers? The coral and bright pink petals surround an ornate gold-colored frame with a single initial inside.

The brown plank backdrop carries the flowers above a very full dessert table. Try repeating those pink shades in your treats and flower accents to follow this look.

a shaped panel in progress

Here’s a behind-the-scenes view rather than a finished dessert setup. A tall pink panel with a shaped top stands beside a black support, with pale pink curtains behind it.

The finished front and attachment method aren’t shown. Save this for the panel shape, but you’d need more setup information before trying to recreate it.

pastel streamers and balloons

I am obsessed with this colorful backdrop. The pink, blue, yellow and mint streamers look so cute with shiny strips mixed between them.

A pastel balloon garland runs across the top. The narrow white table leaves plenty of those long streamers showing underneath, which is a detail I’d keep.

green wall and stacked crates

This is another pretty way to use a green backdrop. Instead of flowers across the top, the leafy look continues along the front edge of the brown table.

The crates, round display slabs and raised stands are still empty here. Borrow the different heights when arranging your own dessert trays.

tiny floral wallpaper and white ruffles

Love a little vintage-style detail? The tiny floral pattern behind this display is so sweet with the pink accents and white ruffled table covering.

This is a styled display with folded items rather than a clear dessert spread. For a dessert version, you could borrow the background and ruffles, then use food-safe trays for your treats.

christmas wreaths and red bows

If you want to go all out for Christmas, there’s plenty to love here. Green wreaths with red bows hang behind the table, with decorated trees on either side.

I especially love the hanging red and gold ornaments above the cakes. The bright red ruffled table skirt brings that color all the way to the floor.

silver fringe and disco balls

The sparkle fans are going to love this! Silver fringe covers the walls, with disco balls overhead and pointed silver stars near the floor.

This is a photo area rather than a dessert setup. You could borrow the fringe for a sweets display and keep the large floor decorations beside the table.

rainbow ruffles and framed photos

Don’t want to cover your wall with a separate backdrop? No problem there!

This dessert table sits beneath existing framed photos, with most of the color coming from the treats and pastel ruffled skirt.

I love how the rainbow cake repeats the pink, purple, blue and yellow below it.

rows of colorful lanterns

How pretty are these glowing lanterns? Yellow, orange, red and turquoise shapes hang in rows from a gold-colored frame. Some have little floral designs too.

There’s no dessert table in this setup, but a low table in front could leave the upper rows visible. I’d keep the tall pink blossom arrangement beside it.

ornate mirror and white flowers

This is one of my favorite alternatives to a separate backdrop. The large mirror has such a pretty white frame, plus it reflects the tall flower arrangement above the desserts.

White pedestal stands and a gold-colored circular shelf hold the treats. You don’t need to add balloons when there’s already this much to enjoy.

blush shimmer and rounded shapes

This is another sparkling birthday backdrop, but it’s a little different from the gold one above. I love the pale pink open arch beside the blush-colored square tiles.

Cream, pink and shiny bronze-colored balloons gather above and down the left side. A slim gold-colored pedestal waits on the right for whatever you’d like to display.

clear balloons with rainbow shine

These clear balloons are so pretty with the pale pink ones mixed in. My favorite details are the little rainbow reflections scattered through the garland.

The arrangement follows a doorway here rather than a dessert table. Try borrowing the same balloon mix for one side of your own backdrop.

blue skies and little teddy bears

How adorable is this cloud-themed scene? The pale blue background, white balloon clusters and little hot-air-balloon decorations are so sweet together.

Teddy bears sit on basket-shaped stands along the bottom. There isn’t a dessert table shown, but you could pair this idea with a small white table and cloud-shaped decorations.

neutral ribbed panels

Last but definitely not least, we have these neutral ribbed panels and matching round pedestals. I love the mix of a tall rectangle, a rounded arch and a sloping top.

They’re shown in a workshop rather than at a party. For a finished dessert display, I’d keep the decorations simple with a cake on one pedestal and a small flower arrangement on the other.
