Looking for porch pots that give your front door a little something extra? Think orange flowers along the steps, pale pink tulips or evergreen branches with big red bows.
These ideas include flowering displays and winter arrangements, so there’s plenty to save for different times of year.
You can keep it simple with one pot or go all out along your staircase. I especially love the little details here, from hanging bells to pinecones tucked between the greenery.

Porch pot ideas worth saving
little trees and pale ornaments
We’re starting off strong with these cute little evergreens in cream-colored pots. I love the oversized pinecones beside the white and gold-colored ornaments.
Try lining up matching pots along your entrance like these. Keep the decorations low so you can still see each tree’s pointed shape.
tall branches and red berries
If you are looking for a big arrangement beside your door, this one is for you. White-barked branches rise above blue-green foliage, with bright red berry clusters tucked throughout.
That plain black pot is worth keeping if you want to follow this look. There’s already plenty going on above it!
orange flowers on the steps
How pretty are these orange mums? The rounded mounds of flowers look so cute in the brown barrel-style pots.
Choose the same flower color for each step if you want this repeated look. Just leave enough room beside your pots to walk through.
plaid bow and pinecones
This winter arrangement may just be one of my favorites here. I love the red plaid bow against the dark green pot, plus those white-tipped pinecones.
The round gray-green leaves are lovely among the needled branches. Keep the bow at the front if you’re trying a similar mix.
muted flowers and ruffled leaves
Don’t want to stick to red and green? No problem!
This pot pairs tan and dusty pink hydrangea heads with pale little flowers and a large ornamental cabbage.
The creamy ruffled center is my favorite part. Bare branches and pinecones give you a few extra details without adding bright colors.

a twig ring around the rim
Here’s a little detail to save before your arrangement is finished. The photo shows a tangled twig ring being positioned around the rim of a black urn, with the soil still visible in the middle.
You could use this as a starting point for a greenery display rather than hiding the entire rim beneath branches.
a simple evergreen urn
Don’t want to add ornaments or a bow? No problem there!
This tall black urn holds a narrow evergreen with lighter green branches spilling around its base.
I love how the greenery echoes the garland beside the doorway. You don’t need another color to make this look pretty.
red ribbon and little lights
I am obsessed with this ribbon arrangement. The big red loops are so pretty over the white-dusted greenery and shiny round ornaments.
Little lights peek through the branches too. If you’re following this idea, let the ribbon curl down the sides instead of tying it all into one bow.
white branches and brown leaves
If you love a tall arrangement, save this one. White-barked branches sit among upright greenery, with red berry stems gathered farther down.
I especially love the broad brown leaves beside the pinecones. Keep those toward the front if you want them to show between the smaller green branches.
bucket pots on different levels
How cute is this little collection? Gray bucket-style containers hold orange flowers, trailing ivy and wispy grasses, with red and green peppers visible near the top.
Try a few different container heights rather than buying an identical set. The matching gray color brings this group together.
hanging bells and broad leaves
The little hanging bells are my favorite part of this pot. They sit at different lengths on pale cords, right below the greenery.
Above them, broad green and brown leaves mix with white-tipped pinecones and tall budding branches. Add gold-colored bells to your own arrangement if you want that same festive touch.
pastel tulips in a basket
I love this pink and pale yellow tulip combination. The basket-shaped container and little purple flowers around the edge make it even prettier.
If you want to follow this display, keep the smaller flowers low so the tulips can stand above them.
red flowers up the staircase
The red flower fans are going to love this! Bright geranium blooms fill gray pots all the way up the steps, with trailing greenery spilling over some of the edges.
You don’t have to fill a whole staircase to borrow the idea. Try two gray pots with red flowers beside your entrance.
blue ornaments and a lantern
Want a holiday pot with a little blue instead of red? This one pairs turquoise-colored ornaments with a silver-colored bow and a tall black lantern.
I love the long pine needles spreading around the lantern. For your own version, choose a flameless candle to sit inside it.
curly branches and gold accents
Those curly branches are so pretty above this tall, tapered pot. The greenery stays closer to the rim, with large pinecones, white berry-like accents and little gold-colored ornaments at the front.

Try keeping your decorations grouped low like this if you want the bare branches to remain visible.
white branches in a bronze-colored urn
This is another white-branch arrangement, but it’s a little different from the fuller ones above. I love the open spaces between the branches and the snowy pinecones beneath them.
The bronze-colored pedestal urn is gorgeous with that blue-green foliage. I’d leave this one without a bow.
fern fronds and trailing leaves
How gorgeous is this fern? Its long fronds spread above red flowers on one side and a curtain of small silvery-green leaves on the other.
This is a lovely idea if you like an overflowing pot. Leave space around your container so those trailing stems can hang freely.
golden grass plumes
If you’re looking for something without flowers or extra decorations, go with a grass display like this. Pale golden plumes rise above thin green blades in a reddish-brown pot.
I love the slightly uneven spread of the stems. A single pot is plenty for this simple look.
pale flowers and piled pumpkins
There’s so much to love in this fall display. Cream-colored flowers sit higher on the steps while potted greenery and pumpkins fill the space below.
The mix of pale orange, white and gray-green pumpkins is my favorite detail. Try grouping a few beside your pots rather than putting every decoration inside them.

yellow and red pansies
Last but definitely not least, we have this sweet little pansy pot. I love the yellow centers and deep red edges!
The flowers look so pretty against the green background.
Keep your container simple if you want to follow this idea. This reddish-brown pot doesn’t need a bow or any extra decoration.
